In 1996, ActiveWeb was created by Georg Stumpf in the historic township of Russell in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand. Georg achieved great success in the tourism market providing affordable, clear, fast-loading websites that achieve good search engine rankings.

The Bay of Islands Travel Guide was launched in 1997 and quickly became the go-to guide for tourists visiting the area. Taking this website to a number one ranking allowed to greatly ActiveWeb’s tourism clients to get the added benefits of increased exposure through this very popular website. Energise Web have redeveloped the website and continue to improve and grow this popular tourist resource.

In 2014 Georg was involved in a serious motorcycle crash that broke his leg in several places. This caused him to reassess his priorities in life and he decided to sell ActiveWeb to Dave Smyth, owner of Energise Web Design Ltd.

Energise Web will continue to run the ActiveWeb brand with an emphasis on local Bay of Islands web design and are enthusiastic about promoting the Bay of Islands travel guide to keep it’s number one spot.
